Kovalam Beach In Kerala

1. Radhanagar Beach In Andaman And Nicobar Islands

With its azure waters and exquisite coral reefs, Radhanagar Beach is the ultimate snorkelling and scuba diving spot. The water is still which gives an escape to us hasty humans. Most of the 572 islands in this archipelago are strictly off-limits—inhabited by indigenous Andamese tribes who don’t have contact to the outside world—so Havelock Island is the place to head to. Its seven beaches are sublime; take a two (sometimes three) hour ferry, or catamaran, from the airport in Port Blair.

2. Cavelossim Beach In Goa

Unlike most beaches in Goa, Cavelossim is prim and pristine. It is home to some of the most exclusive and luxurious beach resorts in Goa. There are plenty of transportation facilities available to reach Cavelossim Beach from Margao so it’s quite accessible as opposed to Radhanagar. It’s the hub of Goan dishes and seafood priced at reasonable rates. With multiple shacks and food joints around Dona Sylvia, spending a few days around Cavelossim wouldn’t burn a hole in your pocket.

3. Agonda Beach In Goa

Agonda is a 3 km long beautiful white sand beach, hidden in the palms. It is one beach which makes for a great day trip from Colva and Covelossim. It’s the beach best known for allowing one to lie down under stars after the sun has set beyond the horizon and forget about the day’s responsibilities. Behind the beach there are plenty of food joints but there’s nothing else around to snatch your attention away from yourself or the beauty of the beach.

4. Kovalam Beach In Kerala

One of the most well maintained beaches of Kerala; Kovalam is located not far from Trivandrum. It consists of two coves — Hawa (also referred to as Eve’s beach) and Lighthouse. Lighthouse is the biggest and busiest of the two, with its seafront lined with open air restaurants. The lighthouse on top of this beach provides breathtaking views, especially at sunset. Kovalam is also hands down one of the best beaches in India for surfing. For a place more private, you can always move to the Samudra beach close by.

5. Varkala Beach In Kerala

Quite possibly the beach with most aesthetic appeal, one goes to Varkala just to subsume in its exquisiteness. It lies around one hour away from the capital Trivandrum in Kerala and provides a relatively peaceful alternative to the now commercialised Kovalam beach. With a long paved stretch of cliff bordered by shacks and views that extend over the Arabian Sea, Varkala is an excellent place to rest and rejuvenate, with yoga and Ayurveda being extremely popular there.

6. Ullal Beach, Mangalore In Karnataka

At about a distance of only 10 kilometers from Mangalore lays the Ullal Beach in Karanataka. It is an empty stretch of sand and sea, backed by casuarina groves and acres of palms. It is close to Queen Abbakka Chowta’s Fort at Ranipur, who fearlessly fought the Portuguese in the latter half of the 16th century. The Summer Sands Beach Resort near Ullal is also a popular picnic spot. The silver sands call out the mermaids to the shore.
