While many call Khoobsurat a remake of Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s film, we completely disagree to the comparison as it is not even close to what the old Khoobsurat was all about. Having said that, there are only 5 reasons why you should watch this movie.
1. Kirron Kher
‘Manju’ is that Punjabi mother whose daughter will always be embarrassed of her. Loud, funny and quirky Punjabi punch lines are how Kher cracks you up amidst the slow drama. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that Kher is the only saving grace of this sinking film!
2. Ratna Pathak
Pathak does justice to the character of a stern queen. If you missed her high-society tantrums which she threw while playing the role of Maya Sarabhai in the tele series Sarabhai V/s Sarabhai, then you must watch this film.
3. Fawad Khan
Fawad Khan isn’t as good as he is in the Pakistani soaps however, we love him just the way he is. He looks dapper in those Raghuvendra Rathore bandhgallas *drool*.
4. Sonam Kapoor’s Styling
Nothing more is annoying in the film than Sonam Kapoor. Her constant trying to fit-in the character and her sing-song shrilly voice makes you want to get up and leave the movie theatre. Minus her acting, her stylist- Karuna Laungani has done a startling job. From the heart print shirts to printed leggings to adding the Rajasthani touch with bright colourful jackets and dhoti pants in the film, Kapoor’s styling in the film is fresh and stunning. Keeping Kapoor’s character in mind, Laungani has used a combination of neons and pastels.
5. Royal Rajasthan
Rajasthan is where royalty comes from and the movie has aptly shown the long deserted roads, palaces and forts of Rajasthan in the movie enhancing the cinematography.
