After hearing rave reviews about Peninsular Kitchen from friends, I decided to go and see what the hype was all about. Located on the second floor at the Ambience Mall, Vasant Kunj, Peninsular Kitchen houses authentic dishes from Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. True to its name, the peninsular like ambience at the restaurant is simple, warm and chic.
Scrolling through the menu from several states in India, I wanted a flavour from each on my plate. Keeping that in mind and following the recommendations from the staff we ordered for Fried Fish Koliwada(Rs.495), Savoury Rice Dumplings(Rs.245), Maddur Vadai (Rs.245). The fish was marinated in a spicy batter and was crispy on the outside and fresh and soft on the inside. Rice Dumplings were soft, fresh and tasted divine. Maddhur Vadai was made from rice flour, semolina and maida and tasted delicious.

Overjoyed with the appetizers, we couldn’t wait to try Hyderabadi Biryani (Rs.495), Lahsooni Ghost (Rs.445), Chicken Chettinad (Rs.375) with Appam and Malabar Porotta for main course. The meal was cooked to perfection and tasted exactly like we would eat a biryani in Hyderabad, chicken in Tamil Nadu and mutton in Andhra Pradesh.

For desserts we had the Pineapple Halwa (Rs. 145) and Aravana Payasam (Rs. 145) which was made from jaggery. The desserts were not too sweet and not very heavy as well.
