Chaainsheel Trek: A Once In A Lifetime Experience In Uttarakhand

If you wish to make all the mountains in the world yours etching your name in the memory of all the adventures there ever were to live through, if being still is driving you to madness and the sun inside of you is burning because you’ve been bogged down by the everydayness of your daily work routine and if you are waiting for a chance to pack your bags and escape to wonderland then Uttarakhand awaits you. The Tourism Development Board of the state is organising the Chaainsheel Trek in its third edition of Uttarakhand Trek of the Year. It’s famous for its high altitude meadows and panoramic view of Thola Sheer and Bandarpoonch Mountains. It’s optimally located for all the adventure sports enthusiasts, about 230 kms away from Dehradun. If you have been dreaming of going trekking since long but haven’t had the courage or experience to do so then this trek is apt for you as the difficulty level of this trek is moderate. Even an amateur can become a part of this trip.

  • Places To Explore

There are some gorgeous sights one can explore such as Murlachaad Waterfalls, Tikula Thaatch, Sunoiti Bugyal and Saamta Bugyal during this trek.

  • Cost Structure

A trek on this route is a treat to the eyes and something that your heart will remember forever. To register for this trek, the cost per person is INR 7,750 (inclusive of costs of all treks from Balawat to Chinwa).

Below is the itinerary for your reference.

Day 1: Transport will be organised from Dehradun at 6:30 a.m. The drive to Balawat takes about 10 hours. (Cost of cab per head- Rs. 1000)

Day 2: Trek from Balawat (6,283 ft) to Sunaooti Thach (10,400 ft).

Duration: 5-6 hours; Distance: 8 km

Day 3: Sunaooti Thach to Samta Thach (11,647 ft)

Duration: 5-6 hours, Distance: 7 km

Day 4: Samta Thach to Tikula Thach (10, 203 ft) via Sarutal

Duration: 5-6 hours, Distance: 8 km

Day 5: Tikula Thach to Dagaan Moriyaach (9,416 ft)

Duration: 4-5 hours

Day 6: Dagaan Moriyaach to Chinwa

Duration: 3-4 hours; Depart for Dehradun. You are expected to reach Dehradun by 10 pm.
