Comprehensive 6 Days Dubai Itinerary

Best Itinerary for Dubai : What To See If You Have 6 Days in City of Gold

Recently I was asked to prepare an itinerary for Dubai for a family of four. They didn’t want to do anything specific but just wanted to make the most of their five nights, six days trip to Dubai.

So here is what I suggested. If you too are travelling to Dubai with your family then you might want to keep this itinerary handy.

6 Days in Dubai

View From Burj Khalifa

Since the family was visiting Dubai for the first time, I figured that the best place to stay was at Bur Dubai. I booked Winchester Hotel Apartments which was located close to the station and the bus stop.

Day 1

Without a doubt the first thing you’re going to do as soon as you land in Dubai is go to your hotel. Freshen up at the hotel and leave for Meena Bazaar which is walking distance from the hotel and is quite similar to Lajpat Nagar in New Delhi, India.

This market is well known for gold and Indian street food. Grab lunch and head to Burj Khalifa. In order to avoid the queue, you can book your tickets online for an extra cost of AED 5 per ticket here.

The best time to visit Burj Khalifa is around 4 pm where you could see the entire city during daylight and also watch the beautiful sunset. After relaxing and watching the entire city from the world’s tallest building, you can experience

The Dubai Fountain which starts after an interval of 30 minutes. You could also opt for The Dubai Fountain Lake Rides which cost around AED 65.

Later in the evening, you can visit The Dubai Mall which is a two minute walk from Burj Khalifa. Shop, have dinner and return to the hotel as per your convenience.

Day 2

Carry your swimming costumes and spare clothes for this day as you will be going to the beach.

Begin your day by going to The Atlantis Palm which is a man-made island. Here you should go The Lost Chambers Aquarium which opens at 10 am. Entry cost to the aquarium is AED 100 and you can pre-book it here.

Here you can chose to go to the water park or do the ‘Ultimate Snorkel’ which costs AED 225. If you go to the water park then you will barely get the time to do other things on this day and if you don’t then in the afternoon you should go to the IBN Batuta Mall which is 20 minutes away from Atlantis. Have lunch and stroll around till evening.

Go to the Global Village which is the leading family cultural, shopping and entertainment destination in the region that promises a unique shopping experience at 32 pavilions representing more than 75 countries with different cultures. From entertainment to food this place has everything under one roof. Entry to the village is AED 100 for 4 people (Family package).

On your way back to the hotel, make a pit stop to the Kite beach from where you will be able to see the world’s only 7 star hotel Burj Al Arab.

Day 3

Laze around at the Jumeira Beach which is 25 minutes away from your hotel. Leave from the beach around 2 pm for your pick up for Desert safari. This is a package provided by travel agents and this should be pre-booked. Go quad biking, ride on the camel and dune bashing at the desert safari. Dinner will also be a part of this package!

Day 4

Head to the Mall of Emirates and get up-close with the adorable Penguins at Ski Dubai. There are several other activities that one can do at Ski Dubai. In the afternoon you can choose to relax at the Jumeirah beach or head to the Gold Souk which is the famous gold market of Dubai. You need to bargain a lot before buying anything. In the evening, take the Dhow cruise where you can see the entire Dubai Creek beautifully lit. It is a two hour cruise where you will be served buffet dinner.

Day 5

Leave early in the morning for Abu Dhabi for Ferrari World which is 1.5 hours away from Dubai. The ticket to the park for one day is AED 250 and can be booked here.  After spending the entire day in Abu Dhabi, return back to Dubai at night.

Day 6

Keep this day for shopping or just go back to places you enjoyed the most.
