1. Get On The Hop On Hop Off Bus
One must visit the touristy spots first before exploring and finding new haunts in the city. So I began my trip in Barcelona by taking a ticket for the hop on hop off bus. It costed me 33 Euros and the tickets were available at The Columbus Monument which was located five minutes away from my hotel. I stayed at The Barcelona House which is a 4 star property located at La Rambla street. If you plan to visit all the places marked in the map that you get along with the tickets then ensure that you start your day early. The last bus drops you back by 7 pm. You will get an audio guide on the bus where you can opt for the language you wish to listen the guide in and the bus service also has free wifi. The bus turned out to be cheaper for me as I saw four places that day which otherwise in a cab would have costed me more.
2. Watch The Enthralling Dance Performance
When in Barcelona, you have to watch the Flamenco. You will fall in love with dancing all over again. I searched online and found that at Tablao Flamenco Cordobes I could watch the 8:15 pm show. The ticket costed me 6 Euros and I stood watching the entire performance with my mouth open in amazement. I was blown away with how the dancers picked every single beat in the music and tapped their feet on it. The dancers wore traditional attires and watching them dance made me wonder how I could learn Flamenco during my stay.

3. Visit The Stunning Sagrada Familia
I don’t know about other churches but so far the most beautiful church I’ve seen is Sagrada Familia in Barcelona! The architectural genius Gaudi has added a jewel in the city with this stunning place of worship. You can sit inside for hours in peace praying or just looking around the glorious colours and structures and learning about it’s history. Make sure that you pre-book your slot (there are timings you need to select when you will be visiting the church) as the church is extremely crowded on all days. You can book your tickets online and avoid the rush.
4. Plan A Picnic At Park Guell
Another amazing place where you can see Gaudi’s work of brilliance is Park Guell. The entrance looks like you are entering in to the world of Disney with stones of different shapes and sizes. Inside the park you get greeted by women playing Dulcimer that makes you stop and listen to their harmonious symphonies. Pack your picnic baskets and marvel at the structure made by Gaudi or just look at the city. There is also a museum inside the park but I chose to skip it and just enjoy the wind at the park with an ice cream.
5. Get On The Cable Car And See The Beautiful City From The Top
The best way to admire the city’s beauty is to view it from the top and that is exactly what I did in Barcelona. After waiting in the queue for 20 minutes it was finally my turn to be on the cable car and enjoy the stunning views. This experience was worth the time and money I spent on it.
6. Relish Paella With A Glass Of Sangria
Paella is an extremely popular dish you will find at almost every nook and corner in Spain. Paella is essentially rice cooked with vegetables and seafood (these are a lot like pulao that we Indians eat). Sit at any road side restaurants and enjoy your Paella with a glass of Sangria during your stay in Barcelona.
7. Shop Till You Drop At Placa Catalunya
It doesn’t matter if you are a shopaholic or not. The minute you enter Placa Catalunya, you will spot these humongous branded stores on all directions that you won’t be able to resist. From stores such as H&M, Zara, Bershka and Pull &Bear to luxurious stores such as Dior, Louis Vuitton et al you can take your pick and shop your heart out.
8. Club Hop At Passeig Maritim
Passeig Maritim is a mad place during the night! Here you will find a lot of amazing night clubs such as Carpe Diem, Opium and Pacha to enjoy the night life in Barcelona. These clubs are walking distance away from each other so you can easily club hop during the night till you find the club that plays your kind of music!
There’s only so much that you can do in the number of days you spend in the city! So no matter how many days you decide to spend in Barcelona, you must do these 8 things to make your stay a memorable one.
